SADLIBS
AN OBITUARY WRITING WORKSHOP
DURING COVID 19
I’ve been thinking a lot about LIFE these days. And about how the awareness of my own mortality can contribute to living. As we’re reforming and reshaping ourselves to adapt to these very new times, perhaps we should be composing a narrative about our old selves to share with the world. Wouldn’t it be great if we could design our own demise, attend our own funeral and compose our own biography?
SADLIBS is an obituary-writing workshop that is open to anyone who is curious about what it means to be alive today. Participants will meet on Zoom where they will be randomly assigned a writing partner. Partners will go to private “breakout rooms” where they will pose each other questions in order to gather information that will be used to draft an experimental obituary. Obituaries will be shared with the other workshop participants in a safe environment that prioritizes care, humor and empowerment.
Come connect with us, joyfully.
