Carmela Hermann Dietrich is choreographer whose dances are informed by personal history, politics, and the things people don’t discuss in public. Her work has been presented throughout the United States and Europe. Dietrich is the author of Learning to Speak, an article about Simone Forti’s text based-dance improvisation which was published in Taken By Surprise: A Dance Improvisation Reader (Weslyan University Press, 2003). She has collaborated with Simone Forti from 1998-present, performing improvisational duets based on the cities they performed. She also creates dance-theater works with longtime collaborator Terrence Luke Johnson which comedically take on issues of sex, death, ageing, and intimacy. She is one of 5 certified instructors to teach Simone Forti’s 1960’s Dance Constructions and she has taught choreography and dance improvisation at UCLA, California State University Long Beach (CSULB), Lawrence University, Santa Monica College, and others. She is a certified CranioSacral Therapist with a private practice in Mount Washington.

Darrian O’Reilly is an LA-based choreographer and performer for film, stage, and television. She is currently studying improvisational partnering techniques, focusing on the intersections between contact improvisation and lindy hop. She has presented her work in venues across Los Angeles, including Electric Lodge, HomeLA, Redcat, Highways Performance Space, Pieter Space, Beyond Baroque, and El Camino College. She is the curator of the High Voltage Series at Electric Lodge and is a lecturer in Dance at the University of California Los Angeles and East Los Angeles Community College.
