Artist Bios

Nena Zinovieff is an artist living and working in Los Angeles. Her work lives in the attempt to delinearize the narrative of time. Looking at the multiple culturally engraved lines that proclaim truth and centre as something more like edges beyond which there may be a multiplicity of potential, rooted in the power of the imagination. The heart is evidence of the living fact of history as it lives in the present, a vehicle of inherited history sometimes so old that its person cannot themselves speak of it. How does this resonant chamber of time we called history live within us? And how do the stories that have been written about it inhibit or allow ~ how do they affect our ability to see, to metabolize, to love.

Suavitel Paper is an artist from and based in Mexico City. She constructs non-sensical interactions and cheesy decorations. She writes conflictefd poetry, “dances”, sensually sings, entertaining her guests on-and-off screen. Suavitel Paper would like to widen the view and our understanding with heart poured details.

Aimee Goguen is a video artist living and working in Los Angeles. Goguen’s video work is often imaginably about sex, bullying and putrefaction. Goguen co-curated
Afterglow: summer video series (2012-2015) with Harry Dodge and she is currently co-curating a video series with Mariah Garnett. Goguen’s video work has been included in such anthologies as Dirty Looks Volume 4 The Pink Place: On Aimee Goguen’s ‘Tongue Job’ by Dodie Bellamy (2019) and The Oxford Companion to Queer Cinemareviewed by William J. Simmons (forthcoming). Goguen has participated in several group shows including ec.dy.sis, CASSTL, Antwerp (forthcoming), The Weight of Matter, Roberts Projects (2018), Dirty Looks, The Cock, NY (2018), Accidentally on Purpose, Panel LA (2017), Protuberances, LAXART, LA (2016), Things: a queer legacy of graphic art and play, Participant Inc, NY (2016) and Escape from Witch Mountain, White Columns, NY (2014). Goguen’s writing has been published by Curse of Cherifa, Capricious, and Playboy Magazine.
